Electrical Installation
Electrical installations deal with assembly of connected electrical equipment for the purpose of distribution and utilization of electrical energy. Electrical equipment is any item for such purposes as generation, conversion, transmission, distribution or utilization of electrical energy such as machines, transformers, and apparatus, measuring instruments, protective devices, wiring materials, accessories and appliances.
Electrical installations provide practical skills, knowledge to meet labour market demands and enable trainee for further training. This includes performing electrical joints and terminations, assemble simple electric circuits, construct power supply circuits, draft and operate wiring circuits, draw and interpret electrical diagrams, make installations, install electrical machines and control switch gears, perform electrical maintenance, manage resources, maintain health and safety at place of work. Electrical installations combine theory and practical activities as an effective means of developing the skills essential to the electrical trade.

Requirements to pursue this area
The minimum requirement for entrance to the Electrical installations programme is Form five or O level and IGSE leavers. Be competent in Mathematics and physics. Able to read and write in English, and there are no specific symbols required.
