Computer Engineering
Computer (Systems) Engineering, as associated with Universities of Technology or Computer Engineering at universities is a discipline that integrates fields of computer science and electronics engineering. It enables students to engage in the design of integrated hardware and software solutions for technical problems. Computer Engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. The field does not only focus on how computer systems themselves work but also how they integrate into the larger picture. It also focuses on the communication between the digital electronic devices
The undergraduate programme in the field teaches students the planning, development, testing and supervision of computer hardware manufacturing, as well as computer networks for the transmission of data and multimedia. The graduate programme in Computer Engineering provide the knowledge and skills necessary to advance and develop new paradigms for the design, integration, testing, evaluation and deployment of state-of-the-art hardware and software systems that include computing, communications and networking, control functions, sensing, signal processing and actuation.
